Happy Thursday everyone and welcome to another week of wonderful doors. I am still showcasing some doors from one of my favourite suburbs in Sydney, Newtown. Let me know if you have a fave this week.

My favourite this week has to be number 4, even though I love how number 2 looks like a face in shock and number 5 has two doors for the price of one. Number 4 reminds me of an Old West saloon door reimagined through South Asian or Chinese decorative craftsmanship, it has that cowboy meets Shanghai look for me, almost like Asian fusion.
I feel like it is cinematic, the kind of door in a fantasy film where you’re not sure whether behind it is a saloon, a hidden gambling den, or a portal to another world. I think it’s actually a bar, which you can see from the writing on the side of the door. The Baby Dragon Bar, described as a “mystical island paradise” and “dragon’s lair”. I feel like I need to visit here one day!
I like them all but I do think #4 is my favorite as well!

Apologies, Wayne, for the late reply. I thought I had commented on your post but alas, I was mistaken.
I love the weathered well worn doors of number 4 and number 5. Looks like those doors can tell some great stories especially number 5. Thanks so much.

These are great, Wayne. I love the look of No. 5, and the fact that on of the doors is a corner door. I also like the artwork around No. 3, and I’m afraid I can’t narrow it down farther than that.
I hope you have a great weekend.

I will take that answer Dan, it’s spot on! I do love a corner door myself also.

I find 3 with the artistic paintings on either side really grabbed my attention.

I like 4 as well but 5 is so poignant. Great selections this week, Wayne.

I like # 4 best, too. Looks kind of spooky like Halloween. 🙂

Yes that’s so true, it does look a bit Halloweeny.

Number 3 for me. I love the colour of the door, but the artwork around the door is amazing. Some very talented artist must have lived there (or still does).

So true Hugh. Imagine coming home to that artwork every night, you couldn’t help but smile.

I agree with you on Door #3. It’s whimsical and inviting.
Door #2 looks like it’s seen some things and needs therapy.
And I like the symmetry of Door #1.
A fantastic collection, Wayne.
