Thank you Di for this week’s questions.
1. Do you drive, and can you remember your first car?
Yes I do drive, a manual CRV. The first car I ever owned was a blue Toyota Aygo that I purchased only 3 years ago. I had only ever driven my parents’ car or partner’s car, so it was a complete joy to finally have my own car.
2. Have you ever ice skated?
Yes we used to ice skate every so often as kids. In Northern Ireland we have Dundonald Ice Bowl and I’m sure every kid from the country has been there at some point. I haven’t skated in years and I dare say I wouldn’t be too good at it.
3. What was your favourite sport at school?
I was never terribly good at sports but at age eleven we did play Kwik Cricket, a simplified version of traditional cricket, designed to make it easier for children to play. I loved this game and we had the chance to compete as a team with other schools.
Typical features included:
• Shorter games, often 8–10 overs.
• Plastic or lightweight bats and stumps.
• A softer ball.
• Smaller teams.
• Everyone getting a chance to bat and bowl.
• Modified scoring, sometimes with runs deducted for losing wickets.
4. What was the last movie you saw at the cinema?
Oh that’s a tough one. I had to look back at my cinema history and apparently it was Wicked: For Good, the sequel to Wicked. I actually really enjoyed these movies and have loved the music ever since seeing the musical on stage.
Gratitude: To have survived two very busy days at work.
