Happy Thursday everyone and welcome to another week of wonderful doors. This week I am showcasing a beautiful home in Rowella, where we spent New Year’s Day 2026 after my friend’s beautiful wedding. Friends of ours have an absolutely stunning home here and features an array of fantastic doors but firstly, let me explain where Rowella is.
Rowella is a quiet rural locality north-west of Launceston, set along the Tamar River, and rather than being a traditional village, it is a scattered community of farms and vineyards, known for its peaceful setting and scenic valley views.
This home reminded us of Europe or even English Tudor revival with its steep gabled roof, multi pane windows and the climbing greenery on the exterior. What do you think? Do you have a favourite door?

How beautiful! I will take any of those doors, but mostly I covet those windows in what looks like maybe a garden room or some fabulous library. Rowella must be gorgeous.

I love the windows too. Thanks very much. I’m not sure what that room was for, I think it might have been a billiard room.

Amazing Teresa. I’m the same, would love to see more. Funny we have been to Launceston but have yet to visit Hobart.

The next Tassie trip on my bucket list is to hopefully see the aurora australis. Maybe one day.

I like the door shown in the 6th picture – it looks like it might be a secondary door or a door to a secondary building. It has a lot of character.

I love the open arched door, but my favorite photo is the second one. The composition is fantastic in that image. Thanks for sharing this lovely place with us.

Wow, that really is a gorgeous home. I particularly like the door in the fourth photo because of the contrast between the straight lines and 90 degree angles of the door and the soft curve of the arch around it.
I also have to ask – is the a terra cotta color on the exterior?
