Doors of WordPress V125

Happy Thursday everyone and welcome to another week of wonderful doors. This week I am showcasing a few more doors from one of my favourite suburbs in Sydney, Paddington. I have shown SO many doors from Paddington that I am truly amazed that there are still more to discover, it’s the gift that keeps on giving and I am here for it. As always, please let me know if you have a favourite this week.

My favourite this week is number three due to the unusual colour for a door, the transom window and arch above it. I also love how the security door is the same colour. How about you?

  1. Our front door is red and definitely stands out in the neighborhood. It’s been through quite a journey! Originally, it was on the west side of the house, but my incredibly handy husband decided to move it to the south side. That change caused a bit of confusion for a while—there was a period where the front of the house had no entry at all. We used the garage or the two sliding patio doors on the west side to come and go.

One afternoon, I was sitting in the den watching TV when I noticed a man walking slowly around the house—more than once. Eventually, he stopped on the patio, took off his hat, scratched his head, and looked thoroughly puzzled. I opened the patio door and asked if I could help him. He gave me our address and asked if he was at the right place, which I confirmed. Then he said, “I was looking for your front door, but now I know why I can’t find it. I’ve got it on my truck!”

I couldn’t help but burst out laughing. Front doors bring a whole lot to our lives.

  2. Great photos and a gallery of elegant doors, Wayne. I found it hard to pick a favorite this week. The first door with the various shadows and shapes you included in the photo of the bare branches almost like sculpture is wonderful. I love the softness added to door number two with the red flowering bush/vine. Excellent as always. Thank you!

  3. These are great doors, Wayne. I like No. 4. It’s a cool black door and it’s one a tight corner.

I don’t know if it’s me (somewhat colorblind) or if you notice, but the first door gives the illusion of color (or perhaps it’s not an illusion) from those glass panes. It’s a very attractive door.

    1. Thank you! Yes I had never seen those doors until I came to Australia. They’re security doors, so you can leave your front door open to get a breeze through your home but you can lock the security door. It’s pretty good actually but sometimes takes away the look of an amazing door.
