Bloganuary Day 22 (2024)

If you could make your pet understand one thing, what would it be?

To pee and poo outside! Today is our last day of dog sitting and I think it has genuinely put us off having our own dog.

Now in the dog’s defence, he is pretty blind and has a neurological disorder. Maybe he hasn’t been shown to do his business outdoors, it doesn’t really matter the reason but it’s not pretty when he urinates or defecates in the house.

We have started to keep him outdoors more and walk him straight away after he has eaten. This has helped massively and we can’t blame the dog at all, it is what it is. However, if we could make him understand the importance of peeing and pooing outdoors, that would be lovely!

Happy Monday everyone! Today is officially our moving day. Yippee!!

  1. Poor dog…sounds like a lot of issues. It might need the owners to be trained…in other words, after having him or her for a long time, they know when things happen and schedule that way. Though one would assume they would explain that to the temporary caregivers.

  2. As you know I love fur children and when you get them young you train them to be responsive to your specifications. I spent hours training my black lab Shannon and she trained like a gem. I know each dog or cat I have had when they go, they take a piece of me with them. Since you were dog sitting, it is obviously an older dog with problems and you would not chose that to begin with. It puts me in mind of our elderly people in our lives how sometimes we have to take care of them as they looked after us when we were young. Think of what they can give you and for all the years before they end up getting elderly. Its worth it in the end.

  3. I would teach my dog that we are safe. He, Cooper, does not need to bark to scare off the “supposed” monsters like the UPS and FedEx trucks.
