Doors of WordPress V15

Happy Thursday everyone and welcome to yet another weekly post featuring some more of my favourite doors in Sydney.

With all the rain we have been having lately, it’s great to be able to look back at photographs that make you smile, back to when we had sunnier days. There have been no new doors spotted this week due to the wet conditions and also me working a lot this week but that’s ok as my collection is pretty big at the moment.

Take a look at my chosen doors for this week and see if you have a favourite.

1 – Paddington

2 – Darlinghurst

3 – Paddington

4 – Bondi Junction

5 – Paddington

I like all of these but I am really drawn to number 4. I love the door for its colour and carvings but I also love the hallway to the door and the little lantern hanging outside.

What are your thoughts? Do you have a favourite and if so, what are the reasons? I’m always intrigued to hear other people’s perspectives.

Thanks for reading and take care.

    1. Thank you! I love the yellow one too and the brick work around it. Yes I always wondered that too. I initially thought security, some people also say for protection from the weather elements. I think so you can leave the front door open for air but can lock the security door.

  1. Definitely like the first one. Like the head-on shot of the door with the black screen door and how the porch surrounding ironwork (with beautiful scroll work) makes a sharp turn to the right outlining that area. Just makes for a very pretty picture.

      1. That’s one of my favorite moldings. I have made it on a few pieces, using a machine, of course. When I see something like this, that was likely cut by hand, I really admire it. Someone went to a lot of effort to make that door look a little better.
