FRIENDS, again and again

What movies or TV series have you watched more than 5 times?

Oh my gawd…without a doubt, the TV series I’ve watched more than five times has to be “Friends”. In fact, I have probably watched it more than a hundred times! It is one of those shows that I can put on anytime and it instantly lifts my mood.

I never get tired of it. I have even watched an episode at lunchtime when it has been on TV and then watched the exact same episode again that evening and still laughed out loud at the jokes. Somehow the humour never gets old.

The characters feel like old friends, the timing of the comedy is perfect, and even though I know many of the lines before they are said, they still make me laugh. For me, it is the ultimate comfort show and one that I will happily keep rewatching for years. That being said, I do find the first five series more funny than the last five so I normally just repeat the first few seasons.

    1. Oh I love it. Funny I hear people saying it hasn’t aged well, that the jokes are not appropriate today but I think we have to remember the times and appreciate it for what it is.

    1. Oh I’ve heard of The Twilight Zone but never actually watched it. I must investigate further. There were so many shows that I used to love watching on repeat growing up like The A Team and Land of the Giants.

      1. The Twilight Zone is from over 60 years ago but in a scary and sometimes tragic way, it remains relevant. Rod Serling, the show’s creator, was a master at writing and he had a view into mankind that was almost prescient.

  1. Yes, we still watch Friends every day. Also Big Bang, Young Sheldon too. All many times and we still like them. The other comment mentioned Northern Exposure — such a great show! I liked it so much I bought the DVD series. 🙂

  2. It’s interesting how certain shows just click with us. It’s comfort-watching. 🙂

For me, it’s a more obscure show that ran in the early to mid 1990s called Northern Exposure. It’s about a New York doctor who signs a contract that pays for his medical school debt, but he finds out too late that it requires him to be the doctor for a small town in rural Alaska. A great fish-out-of-water series with a cast of crazy characters.
