Happy Friday everyone. Today’s flower of the day is the strikingly beautiful Egyptian Lotus, often called the sacred lotus, a stunning aquatic plant that can be seen blooming in the Lotus Pond at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.

What a beautiful colour! I can see why it’s been admired for thousands of years.

Great photo, Wayne and nice to meet you.
Congrats on following your dream down under.
I’m from just south of the border (Co. Louth) but now also live somewhere sunny (California).
Cheers!

Thanks for sharing. As someone interested by ancient Egypt, I always wondered what one looked like. Now I know. Much different from what I imagined.

A fantastic photo of a beautiful bloom, Wayne. The out of focus, dark background really makes the shade of violet and purple pop. Looks like a painting to me.
Hope you have a fantastic day!
