Morning routine

What are your morning rituals? What does the first hour of your day look like?

I am a creature of habit, therefore my morning rituals are pretty much the same every day. I work Monday to Saturday and I will base my rituals on what I did this morning.

  • Wake up at 6am
  • Turn on some light and make a coffee
  • Drink my coffee and relax for 15 minutes
  • Wash my face, fix my hair and brush my teeth (I always shower the night before)
  • Get dressed, I always have my clothes sitting ready from the night before
  • Pack up my breakfast and much to take with me, also prepared the night before
  • Leave the house and walk to the train station. Sometimes I drive but I’m trying to save money on petrol
  • Take train for 30-50 minutes depending on where I am working
  • Walk to work, this can take 10 – 50 minutes also depending on where I am working. I like to get my steps in for the day here
    • All in all this can take me about 90 minutes but I actually don’t mind the commute, it gives me time to wake up and prepare my day or simply have some “me” time.
    • I truly believe that being a creature of habit can actually be a strength as routine reduces decision fatigue, saving your mental energy for bigger things, while formation of habits makes good behaviours feel automatic rather than forced. It also brings a sense of stability and supports better mental health by creating structure in an unpredictable world. What do you think?

Share Your World – 10/02/26

Thank you Di for this week’s questions.

1. What time did you get up this morning?

6am. This is my normal time when I’m working.

2. What are your plans for today?

I’m teaching today, all day. In the evening I will go to the gym for my Tuesday night gym class and afterwards will cook a nice dinner with my other half. We may watch a little tv before getting ready for another day of work. Prepare breakfast, lunch and have my uniform ready for another working day tomorrow 😜.

3. Has 2026 been a good/better year for you so far?

So far so good, no complaints. We’re plodding along with work and have already travelled for a few days at the beginning of January. Now it’s time to get the head down and focus on work, saving money and enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

4. What is on your meal menu for today?

Ooh now that’s a question. I have some leftover chicken so may create a meal using that.

Gratitude

Delighted to have survived Monday and Tuesday!

Evening routine

What are you doing this evening?

Happy hump day everyone! So I really am a creature of habit and in the evenings I pretty much do the same thing every evening, unless I have plans. This evening I will –

  • Return from work and have a coffee
  • Attend the gym for a class workout
  • Have my dinner, my partner will hopefully have cooked something nice otherwise we cook together and eat together at the dining table.
  • Have a shower.
  • Have a cup of tea and work on my uni assignment.
  • Make my breakfast and lunch for the next day.
  • Hit the sack about 10pm.

Not overly exciting but I like routine and being organised 🙂

Catch a flight!

What’s your #1 priority tomorrow?

My number one priority tomorrow is to catch my flight to London tomorrow to visit my sister. I am really looking forward to head away for a few days and I see the weather is supposed to be good, so that’s always a bonus. Before I reach the airport, I have a few things to do :-

1 – wake up and have a coffee

2 – brush my teeth and pack away my toiletries

3 – wear something comfortable for travelling

4 – lock up the house and hop in my car.

All pretty straightforward as I have packed everything this evening because I hate to be disorganised and feel stressed. What’s your ritual before catching a flight? Do you have a number one priority?

See you all soon and enjoy your week everyone.

Wayne ✌🏽
