Doors of WordPress V166

Do you have any collections?

Today’s blog prompt made me perk up a little! I have had an absolutely crazy busy couple of weeks at work and have been driving instead of taking public transport for that reason, therefore, have been out of action from blogging for what seems an eternity. However, I felt compelled to answer the prompt today, seeing as I also missed Thursday Doors yesterday.

Most people think of collections as stamps, coins, or model cars, however, mine is a little different, I collect doors (as most of you already know).

Not actual doors, of course, my house isn’t overflowing with salvaged front entrances but instead I collect photographs of them. Wherever I travel, may it be local or afar, I find myself drawn to interesting doorways. Brightly painted doors in narrow streets, weathered wooden doors that have stood for generations, grand entrances to historic buildings, or quirky modern designs that stop me in my tracks.

My collection has grown steadily over time, and scrolling through the photos is like taking a journey through places I have visited. Each image brings back memories of a particular street, city, holiday, or chance discovery. I have showcased just a few below to show you what I mean. I am delighted to have met so many other door enthusiasts in this blogging community too and I will hopefully continue to find new and interesting doors to show you all.

Fit for life

What is your favorite hobby or pastime?

Many of you will know this already but exercising is my favourite hobby / pastime. From 2017 I was taken over by the fitness bug after having the most amazing personal trainer. She provided me with such an amazing experience and it was the first time I had ever since results. From that point on the gym has become more than just a place to work out, it is my happy place. There is something addictive about that rush of endorphins after a good session, the feeling of strength and energy that lingers long after I leave.

I love seeing my progress, lifting a little heavier, running a little faster, becoming fitter and feeling more confident in my body. It is not just about looking good (though that is a nice bonus I have to admit when you see changes), it is all about feeling good.

The gym also clears my mind. No matter what is going on outside, once the headphones go in or the gym class starts, everything else fades. Plus, it is a great way to meet new people who share that same drive to better themselves. I have met many of my good friends and even had positive changes to my life direction all from going to the gym.

For me, fitness is not just a hobby, it is a lifestyle that keeps me grounded, focused, and happy.

This was me skipping in Perth for the first time in years!
