Hi everyone and a very happy Thursday to you all. This week’s doors are from Hillsborough, a little village in Northern Ireland. Some of you may remember that we lived here for nearly a year when we temporarily moved back to Northern Ireland last year. During our trip home last month we just had to return and spend a couple of days here as we had loved living there so much.
Please let me know if you have a favourite door this week.

Ok so number 5 technically has a few doors here but I’m thinking more of the black door behind the mini. To be honest this has to be my favourite, not only for the fantastic door, surrounding arch and transom window but I also love the brickwork of the building. It’s also one of my favourite images and really gives you a feel for the village of Hillsborough. The flowers, the bunting and even the mini parked outside all add to the visual.
Anyway, thanks for taking a look at my doors this week and have a fantastic weekend everyone.

Wonderful collection! Though I do like the brick building (no. 5), my favorite this week is no. 4.

I chose door 5 because of the whole look. Love the brick work and the transom. It just pulls it all together to make a very relaxing looking place I would like to peek inside.

I love door number one, but then I think about who would be looking in when it’s dark outside. The pink door is excellent, but what was the shop next door?

Thanks Hugh. Yes I agree, I don’t think I would want a front door with so much glass, it would be pretty scary to see a face looking in. I love the pink door too, this was the house we stayed in, really beautiful inside and larger than what you would imagine. The shop beside has a lovely architectural structure and it’s a chemist.

There’s something very appealing about the pink one!

I think my favorite is the first one. I don’t know why, maybe it is the windows? Of course, I imagine my dog smudging them up everyday!

Greta photos! I’m going to go with number one. We don’t see many blue doors, and I love it when that’s the right color for a house.

But I bet that bunting means more that just “village fete” or “let’s brighten the place up for summer”. The one time I visited Belfast I found that very noticeable – kerbstones painted red white and blue. You know, just ‘cos it’s such a non-issue over in England.

So true!!!! Anywhere else it could be seen as threatening or marking your territory but here it just seems lovely and no bad intentions.

My faves are Number 4 because of the lush greenery and number 2 because the pink door is pretty.
