Bloganuary Day 30 (2024)

What do you complain about the most?

The price of everything! The cost of living has risen so much over the past couple of years with wages not rising to match. This is very much evident in Northern Ireland post Brexit, obviously there are other factors at play, Covid, wars happening around the world etc but it’s sad to see people struggling to buy the basics or worried about heating their homes.

I do find I complain about this less in Australia but it’s still happening here too. The weather can be a big thing to complain about as it has been very humid here of late, however, I don’t like to complain about it as I left Northern Ireland because of it being too cold!

I complain about the injustice in the world, the sadness from the wars raging on and the suffering of innocent people. I also complain about how the environment is suffering and global warming. We can make little changes to make a difference but it’s the people in power who ultimately have to take action.

I think that’s it really. I’m sure I complain about other things too, we have a tendency to do that if you’re from Northern Ireland 🤣. We love a good moan!

  1. Corrie Ten Bloom said ‘Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength’. But we all worry, it is natural. It sounds like you don’t steep yourself in too much worry, which is the best we humans can possibly do.

  2. I “complain” or should I say REVEAL the truth about the zombie Evaingelunacal sects of the nine billion names of gawd that infest the Southern USA. Next – Neighbors feral and free roaming “housecats”. The invasive creatures do extensive damage to any environment they are set loose into.

      1. Oh don’t worry, it’s one of those inherited generational things for sure ha ha. Only a couple of generations back and the moaning goes on x but we can laugh about it too, right.

  3. Oh I think you hit every nail on the head. My big complaint is the ugliness and
unkindness to those who are different and our lack of being able to understand how much we could learn with more compassion to each other. My problem is where do you run to when it is everywhere? Asks the woman who has a stuffed frog and pig sitting on her couch!! lol

  4. Wayne, I have to say, in all of your blogging, I would never imagine that you complain very much. I would label you as a positive, upbeat person that looks for the good or beauty in life. You share photos of doors , architecture in general and flowers. You feel free to compliment me as well as others. It is very obvious that you love your life with your partner.

Everybody is prone to grumble once in awhile, but methinks you do not most of the time!!!

    1. Aww thank you very much!!! That’s very kind. You’re right to an extent, I’m generally a very positive person and I like to make others feel good too ☺️ I think the odd moan is ok for all of us, good for the soul.

  5. I do agree with your sentiments – the cost of living, the injustice wielded by those in power, the environment and the lack of action – but hopefully, you do find the weather here better. Heatwaves and torrential rain aside that is 😊
