Bloganuary Day 10

I love today’s topic. It’s good to reflect and remember to be grateful for things happening in our lives. Too often we become caught up in our busy daily lives and forget to be thankful for the positive things around us that we often take for granted.

1 – As corny as it sounds, I am firstly grateful to waken up, alive and healthy. Not everyone has this luxury.

2 – Being away this weekend in Mudgee with my amazing partner as we celebrate 15 years together.

3 – I’m grateful that I had a great sleep last night, 8.5 hours to be exact. If I have 7 hours sleep at night, I am doing really well. So to wake up and check my Fitbit that read 8.5 hours sleep, I was delighted.

4 – Grateful to have no rain this morning. It is supposed to be stormy all week, so to waken with no rain and blue skies on the horizon, that makes me really happy.

5 – Thankful for a lovely breakfast this morning and having a walk around Mudgee. It’s a really quaint little town with lots of character. I will be creating a blog of this town very soon.

Mudgee, NSW

I cannot wait to hear what everyone else is grateful for today 🙏🏼.

Take care and stay safe,

Wayne ☺️

  1. I try to practice conscious gratefulness every day. (Corny, right?) Off the top of my head, here are 5 things I’m grateful for right now:

A two month streak of relatively good health, waking up every day without any pain or discomfort and functioning almost completely like a normal person again.

Working from home. With my recent surgery, the bad weather (I’m in upstate NY USA- Brrr!) and the exploding Omicron transmissions, I am grateful I don’t have to leave my house, be exposed to other people, or spend part of my day commuting.

My two dogs that bring me absolute joy from the moment I wake up in the morning to the moment I fall asleep. It has been a silver lining during isolation to get to spend so much more time with them than I ever thought I could.

My husband, for everything he does every day to make my life and our life together better, from going to a job he hates, every day, to help support our life together to simple things like making me eggs and coffee in the morning and building fires in the fireplace at night. And he tells me he loves me every day. 🙂

My job. While I hate it, it provides a good salary and security and allows me to live the life I do, provides much needed health care, and has the flexibility for me to continue to work from home, safely and remotely, take time off when I want to or need to, and will allow me to retire at 55 years old, in just 4.5 years. The good far outweighs the bad.

  2. Good stuff! Fortunately both Michaela and I were blessed with a positive outlook and neither if us dwell on bad things. We’re lucky to be that way and it paves the way for lots of fun and for getting over difficulties when travelling. So I guess I’m always grateful to have been blessed with both that, and good health.
